A Comedy Comedy In the movie, a housewife, a Barney-like TV character, and a New York socialite all go to Japan. They encounter people from different walks of life in the town of Kyowa - from a lonely businessman to a teenage skateboarder. They also learn interesting facts about Japanese culture and tradition in this magical-realist world, where everything is possible. For instance, there are no crime or poverty in Japan because people can't be born unhappy! And so they must find their happiness through hard work and dedication to their dreams. A Comedy Comedy The Orphans were founded by Minowada Kitahara in the town of Kyōwa back in 1975. Making their first debut on NHK TV, Orphans were pioneers of the circus art form. They are known for their unique performance - juggling, the art of catching the same ball, and world-famous catapults! They don't even use music or any other props while performing. The Orphans are also famous for breaking down traditional gender roles! It is said that they are one of the most revolutionary family groups in Japan, because their performances involve not only men and women but also children and pets alike. A Comedy Comedy Kyōwa is the birthplace of the Tsukiji Market, which is renowned for its fresh seafood. It's also home to many traditional inns called Ryokan. Tourists who visit Kyōwa often want to stay in one of these ryokans! They are known for their high-quality service and attention to detail. The inns employ only women - like maids, cooks, cleaners and care-takers - which means that they can provide guests with a more feminine experience. In the movie, a young child from America goes to the ryokans in search of a perfect bed to sleep in. She encounters the innkeepers and maids while she embarks on a magical-realist adventure through Kyōwa, where everything is possible. A Comedy Comedy The idea of "family" is a central theme in this movie. The fact that families can be found practically anywhere, even in Japan, is highlighted through the interactions with members of different families - all of whom are connected by one thing: they are all part of their family's business or livelihood. One day, our protagonist Natsumi goes to see her father at his family's inn. She finds him in the midst of preparing for the market day ahead. Natsumi learns that her father is taking her to meet his family - his wife, their daughter, and their grandchildren - over the market day. As she gets to know them better, Natsumi realizes that all of them are hardworking business owners whose lives revolve around the market. Natsumi sees this as a chance to see how people live in Kyōwa while also seeing them at their best work. The film highlights the traditional Japanese business culture and family life while showing how it can transform itself according to modern society. cfa1e77820
